CellarVision is an iOS app for managing your wine cellar. It uses AI to scan labels, generate tasting notes and food pairings, track drink windows, estimate market values, and organize your collection into flavor zones — all automatically.
Yes. The free tier includes 5 AI label scans, 5 cellar walkthrough sections, unlimited barcode scanning, unlimited manual entry, smart zone organization, drink window tracking, email order ingestion, spending & drinking analytics, wish list with price comparison, public cellar page, export, and unlimited bottles. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited AI scans & walkthroughs, AI tasting notes, CellarTracker import, and Year in Review.
CellarVision is on the App Store for iPhone (iOS 17 or later). Open this site on your iPhone to get a download banner, or tap any App Store badge. Desktop visitors can scan the QR code with their iPhone camera.
CellarVision is available now for iPhone running iOS 17 or later. iPad and Android support are on the roadmap.
Three ways: scan a wine label with your camera (AI identifies the bottle in seconds), scan a barcode for instant lookup, or add manually by entering the details yourself. You can also import your entire CellarTracker library via CSV.
Point your camera at any wine label. CellarVision uses Claude AI vision to identify the producer, wine name, vintage, varietal, region, and appellation. It works with any label in any language — it doesn't depend on a pre-built database.
Our AI correctly identifies the vast majority of wine labels in seconds, including handwritten and non-English labels. For edge cases, you can always edit the details after scanning. Tasting notes and value estimates are AI-generated approximations — helpful for guidance, but not a substitute for professional appraisals.
CellarVision generates detailed tasting notes for every bottle using AI — flavor profiles, aroma descriptions, and structure assessments tailored to the specific wine. Notes are saved to a shared catalog, so they improve over time across all users. This is a Pro feature.
When you view a bottle, CellarVision generates food pairing suggestions using AI based on the wine's varietal, region, and style. Suggestions are practical — dishes you'd actually cook or order, not just generic categories. This is a Pro feature.
No. Barcode scanning is completely free and does not consume any of your AI scan quota. Only label photo scanning uses AI credits.
CellarVision automatically organizes your bottles into 10 flavor-based zones: Cabernet & Bordeaux, Pinot Noir & Burgundy, Grenache & Rhone, Syrah & Shiraz, Nebbiolo & Sangiovese, Bold & Everyday Reds, Whites, Sparkling, Rose, and Dessert & Fortified. Zones are assigned automatically based on varietal.
Drink windows estimate when a wine is at its best. CellarVision auto-calculates drink windows based on varietal and style, then shows color-coded badges: Drink Soon (red — in window, ending within 2 years), In Window (green — currently at peak), Aging (orange — not yet ready), and Past Peak (gray — past the recommended window).
Yes. You can create separate cellars for different locations — home, vacation house, off-site storage — each with its own zones, bottles, and inventory. Switch between them with a tap.
CellarVision estimates the market value of each bottle and your total cellar. Values are tracked over time with monthly snapshots so you can see how your collection appreciates. Bottles in the top 5% by value are flagged as Special Occasion wines. This is a Pro feature.
Save wines you want to buy and compare prices across retailers. Tap to check current pricing on Wine-Searcher, Wine.com, or Total Wine — all from one screen. Mark as purchased to add directly to your cellar.
Tap 'Mark as Consumed' on any bottle. You can just confirm to log it instantly, or add optional details: date (defaults to today), occasion (e.g., 'Anniversary dinner'), your personal tasting notes, a 1-5 star rating, and a photo. The quick path is one tap — the full journal is there when you want it. Consumption logging is free for all users.
AI tasting notes are generated from wine data — varietal, region, vintage — and describe the wine's expected flavor profile, structure, and character. Your personal notes are what YOU experienced when you drank it — how it tasted to you, what you paired it with, the occasion. Both live on the bottle detail page so you always have the reference alongside your own memory.
Forward your winery order confirmation emails to orders@cellarvision.app. Our AI reads the email, extracts every wine with quantities and order details, and adds them to your pending inventory. When the bottles arrive, tap 'Mark as Received' to add them to your cellar.
Yes. When a winery sends a shipping confirmation, forward that too. CellarVision matches it to the original order and shows carrier, tracking number (tappable to open the carrier's tracking page), and estimated delivery date.
CellarVision automatically deduplicates — forwarding the same email multiple times creates only one order. No duplicate bottles.
Any winery. CellarVision's AI reads the email content, so it works with any format — HTML emails, plain text, even PDF attachments. It's not limited to specific wineries or templates.
Yes. Every Pro subscription starts with a 7-day free trial. You won't be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel anytime from your Apple ID settings.
CellarVision Pro is $79.99/year or $9.99/month. The annual plan saves 33% compared to monthly. Both include a 7-day free trial.
The free tier includes: 5 AI label scans, unlimited barcode scanning, unlimited manual bottle entry, smart zone organization, drink window tracking, consumption journal (date, occasion, notes, rating, photo), wish list with price comparison, and multiple cellar locations.
Pro unlocks unlimited AI label scans and cellar walkthroughs, AI tasting notes and food pairings, CellarTracker import, Year in Review, and priority support. Analytics, email ingestion, value tracking, and export are included on the free tier.
Yes. Year in Review is a Pro feature in Settings (and surfaces automatically in January). Leaderboards are in the app — opt in to share bottle count, value, and region stats. Public cellar pages are also live at cellarvision.app/cellar.
Yes. CellarVision Pro is managed through Apple's subscription system. Cancel anytime from your iPhone's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. Your data stays even if you downgrade to the free tier.
Yes. Export your CellarTracker library as a CSV file, then import it into CellarVision from Settings. All your bottles come over with full details — producer, vintage, varietal, region, value — and get auto-assigned to flavor zones.
Yes, Pro users can export their cellar data. Your data is always yours — CellarVision never locks you in.
Currently, CellarVision supports direct import from CellarTracker via CSV. For other apps, you can manually re-scan or enter your bottles. We're open to adding more import formats based on user demand — let us know on our feedback page.
Yes, by default. Your cellar is private unless you choose to publish a public cellar page. Public pages only show what you opt in to share. Leaderboard participation is also opt-in. Your data is stored securely and only accessible to you unless you publish it.
No. CellarVision does not sell, share, or monetize your personal data. The business model is straightforward: free tier for basic features, paid Pro subscription for premium features. That's it — no ads, no data brokering.
Your data stays. If you downgrade from Pro to free, all your bottles, notes, and history remain. You lose access to Pro features (unlimited AI scans, tasting notes, CellarTracker import, Year in Review) but your cellar data is never deleted.
